Minimum Interprofessional Salary (MIS) in Spain
The Minimum Interprofessional Salary (MIS) establishes the minimum remunerative amount that a worker must receive for their legal working week. This indicator is calculated based on a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week and applies to all workers, regardless of their sector or type of contract.
What is the current MIS amount?
For this year, the salary floor in Spain is regulated under the following mandatory conditions:
- In 14 payments (Traditional model): 1,134 euros gross monthly. In this scenario, the worker receives 12 regular monthly payments plus two extraordinary payments (usually during summer and Christmas).
- In 12 payments (Prorated): 1,323 euros gross monthly. Here, the extraordinary payments are evenly distributed throughout the twelve months of the year.
- Annual computation: A total minimum legal annual salary of 15,876 euros gross.
Impact on part-time schedules
If your contract is part-time (for example, 20 hours per week), the MIS will be strictly proportional. In that specific case, the gross annual salary would drop to 7,938 euros.
